Where in the World?

I had commented on another stitcher's Facebook biz page yesterday with a statement about being in the U.S.  She replied that she didn't know she had any followers/fans in the U.S.  I told her where she could go on her fan page to look at the insights and see the countries that all of her "likers" are from. 

I've known it was there for quite a while now, but don't look at it on a regular basis.  Just for the heck of it, I decided to check mine out and make a list of all the countries that I have followers/fans of my Facebook page.  This is what I found:

• As of yesterday there were 503 people from 45 different countries in the world that have liked my Facebook page. 
• People from the United States and United Kingdom make up 78% of my fan base.

Tips & Techniques - Facebook Biz Page "Schedule" Feature

I thought I'd do something a little different today and branch outside of the needlework realm. 

I know so many people online that have Facebook business/fan pages and don't know about one of my favorite tools.  It's the "schedule" feature.  Sorry peeps, it's not available for personal pages.

It's super simple.  You just add your photo, status update, whatever.  Then before you click the "post" button, you click on the little clock icon in the lower left corner (see photo below).  That will then bring up different links for scheduling your post (year, month, day, hour, minute).  Once you select all the criteria you want your "post" button will now become a "schedule" button.

If you're like me, and work multiple jobs with long hours outside your business, or even if you're really busy with your business and/or family and just can't spend a lot of time on the computer, it's a great tool to use.  I typically schedule 1-3 posts that will then share at different times throughout the day while I'm at work, have a busy day running errands etc.  It's great to be able to connect with my fans & customers that are spread out over various time zones throughout the world, as well as not bombarding them with a bunch of stuff at one time while I'm able to be on the computer.

Hope this has helps people out there organize their time a little better.  We all know time is something we can always use more of.

Emailed Newsletter Now Available

Well I’ve been talking about starting a newsletter for the past year, and have finally done so.  The beginning of the year I took the plunge and started setting everything up.

I’m on Facebook on a regular basis since that’s where more people seem to be, and neglect my blog more than I probably should, but am trying harder for 2012 to have read-worthy posts.

I’ll use my newsletter to announce new patterns, fabric of the month and VIP only sales.

Stitching Progress

It's bright & early the Monday morning after our IHSW.  I know I'm supposed to be posting pics of what I worked on over the weekend, but can't do that.  Why you may ask?   Because I decided to work on a Scrabble-inspired piece that will be a new pattern in my shop and am at the point that I have all the words done, which I don't want to reveal until the piece is completely finished.  Here is a picture of where I started on Friday night:

Since I took this picture I was able to get all of the words done, more of the white backstitching that will separate all the different spaces on the "board", as well as more of the individual blocks.  When I went to bed last night I had only 21 more blocks to go and am hoping to have it completed by Wednesday or  Thursday night of this week with the pattern being released in my shop by the weekend.

My intention was to start a monthly newsletter in January, but so far time has not been on my side.
