To Dye or Not to Dye????

I think most of you know I hand dye and sell needlework fabrics.  I haven't done any in weeks due to my hectic work schedule with jobs #1 and #2 and the custom stitching orders I've had going on.  I've actually missed doing it.  I admit, it had gotten to the point it was becoming boring, if that's the right word to use.  Don't get me wrong, I love doing it, or else I wouldn't.  But on the other hand, the creative side in me likes to be able to branch out and try new things, which time has not permitted me to do.

Recently I had a loyal customer request a piece of fabric to compliment the pattern she's going to stitch.  It was the perfect opportunity to force myself to try something new.  Here's the result....

Both the customer and I LOVED the final result.  It prompted me to squeeze in the time in my crazy work schedule this week (116 hours in 12 days, NOT including Stitchnmomma time!!) to do some more color combos.  Here's a couple more I've done.

Mixing colors is great as I never know how it's going to look until the piece is completely done (dyed, washed & air dried).  I'm having a blast making these and will definitely be adding many more color combos to my shop.  And for those of you that like plain, solid colors don't worry, I'll still continue dyeing those also.  If you're interested in seeing what fabrics I currently have available, just click HERE to go to that section of my Etsy shop.

Off to get some more fabric from the washer!!  :)

Life is a Circus!

Some of you may know I sell some of my hand-stitched items in a couple galleries.  One that is local to me, The Good Goat Gallery, kicked off their "Life is a Circus" show yesterday.  Thankfully I was off work from job #2 in time that I could actually make it up there.  There are so many cool items, with everything from paintings to jewelry, knitted & crocheted pieces and everything in between.  There is also a wide range on prices, so everyone can find something within their budget.

While I was there I decided to take a few pics to share with you.

More art inside the gallery

More art that is something other than paintings

I just LOVE this painting by Jane Reynolds!

I was walking around checking things out and found one of my own necklaces on display :)

This is Nancy that owns the gallery, all dressed up for the circus themed event.  You can see a large selection of the art available for sale around & behind her.

Needless to say, the hours I've been working with jobs #1 and #2 and all the custom orders for Stitchnmomma (THANK YOU!!!) has left me a little tired (OK, a LOT tired).  I was cruising along and completely missed my exit to head South toward Akron.  I ended up taking an extra drive along I-90 East and went past Progressive Field, home of the Cleveland Indians.  Figured I had to take a pic to share in this post, lol!

If you're local to N.E. Ohio, or even interested in making a short road trip from another area, the "Life is a Circus" show runs through June 22nd, so stop in and check it out.  Here's the details.  :)

Oh yeah, and if you can't make it in time for this show, she already has 2 more planned, both with equally fun themes.  And yes, I WILL have new pieces stitched specifically for those.

Money Monday - May 13, 2013

I thought I'd have a little fun with today's Money Monday.  You ever watched the game show "Lets Make a Deal"?  Well...that's what we're going to play today.  Below are pictures of items sitting in my inventory I'd love to get rid of.   Here's the rules....

1)  Click on the picture of an item you're interested in and it will take you to the actual listing in my Etsy shop that has all the details on the item.

2)  Use the "contact" button on that item to send me a message with your REASONABLE offer on what you'd like to pay for the item (shipping charges will NOT change from what is posted in the listing).

3)  I will respond with whether I have accepted your offer.

4)  If your offer HAS been accepted, the item will be reserved for you with the new price and payment will be required within 24 hours.

5)  Any item that is not paid for within 24 hours will be taken off reserve and either listed for the next person or put back up for general sale.

Clear with the rules?  Now let's start having some fun!!!  :)

Money Monday - May 6, 2013

It's Monday again.  The end of a beautiful weekend and the beginning of another long work week.  However, we all have out stitching to get us through to the next weekend.  :)

Today's bargain buy for you is one of my most popular patterns...The Sophisticated Lady silhouette.  Not only can you get it at 50% off for the next 24 hours, but all of my patterns are now available via an instant digital download.  What does that mean?  After you pay, you'll get notification from Etsy that you can download the PDF version of the pattern with no waiting for me to send it to you in an email.

If you'd like to purchase this pattern, simply click on the photo and you'll be taken directly to the listing.  Happy Stitching!
